The 2024 Annual Convention, organized under the theme Rethinking MUTA: A strategic reassessment and adaptation for effective service, aims to provide a platform for all stakeholders and supporters to meet and celebrate the remarkable achievements and contributions of MUTA over the past 30 years as well as provide a retrospection of the organization’s activities. Additionally, the convention will explore strategies, innovations, and collaborations with a view towards building resilience and enhancing MUTA’s impact and sustainability for the future.
The convention underscores the critical importance of dialogue and introspection in self-preservation and sustainability. The convention will feature various substantive sessions including plenary, workshops, panel discussions, cultural performances, social activities, and networking opportunities that will highlight the achievements and challenges of MUTA and explore ways to enhance its impact and sustainability in the future. It is expected that invited guests will have robust conversations within these sessions on topics relating to the sustainability of Tiv nation as well as use the opportunity to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats facing MUTA, and to identify ways to enhance its impact and relevance in the changing world.
This convention is a milestone event that will celebrate the remarkable achievements of MUTA over the past 30 years. It will also provide a platform for attendees to engage in a candid and constructive dialogue about the future direction of the organization. In addition, the convention will feature a tribute to our founding members and first-generation Tiv diaspora as well as members who have made indelible contributions to advancing the mission and vision of the organization. We will honor their legacy and learn from their experiences. The convention will include plenary sessions, panel discussions, workshops, cultural performances, and networking events.

Please note that the convention hotel operates an airport shuttle service only to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, DFW. Therefore, it is highly recommended that convention attendees make the airport their most preferred point of arrival. Those who choose to arrive via the Love Field airport will be responsible for making their arrangements for ground transportation (taxis, shuttle buses, buses) to the convention hotel.
All attendees must register in order to participate in the conference. The conference fee includes one (1) ticket to the Friday Night Fundraising Dinner. Families may be required to buy additional tickets.
All MUTA members are required to pay the annual dues in order to remain in good standing. The dues are used to fund the activities and services that MUTA provides for its members and the Tiv people in Nigeria.
